Occupied Palestinian territories

CDAC Network members have been responding to humanitarian needs on the ground in the occupied Palestinian territories for decades.

Since the conflict in Gaza erupted in October 2023, members such as UNICEF, OCHA, WFP and our partner, the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC), have been spearheading emergency assistance efforts.

Through facilitating collaboration, knowledge-sharing and joint advocacy, CDAC is addressing critical communication and information needs in Gaza, the wider occupied Palestinian territories and the region.

We convene a regular community of practice on in-country coordination and collaboration, including facilitating a radio broadcast subgroup of our media and UN members bringing radio access to affected people in Gaza. In early 2024, we hosted a members-only learning event to launch Ground Truth Solutions’ study of community perceptions in Gaza.

Looking ahead, CDAC is actively engaged in scenario planning for future humanitarian response in Gaza following a possible cessation of hostilities. The current focus is on ensuring a coordinated, accessible and locally relevant communication strategy for affected communities once humanitarian access is restored.
