Our 2022–2027 Strategy
We want a world where communities have the information and resources they need to determine their own solutions and be central stakeholders in humanitarian and development decision-making.
We promote deep engagement with communities directly affected by crises.
We strengthen communication and information ecosystems at local levels.
We push for marginalised voices to be heard in decision-making spaces.
We connect ideas and action towards demand-driven, community-centred aid.
*In 2025 CDAC refreshed this strategy, to reflect, adapt and inspire in face of the significant changes affecting the humanitarian and information ecosystem.
Our strategic aims
-
Communities affected by crisis can meaningfully influence decisions about aid
CDAC will champion approaches that empower people to communicate their needs and participate in decision-making. We will push for an aid sector which prioritises communication, community engagement, participation, and accountability.
-
'Information as Aid' is safeguarded
CDAC will address the direct impact of harmful information on communities affected by crises, as well as on aid actors. We will promote peer learning, new capabilities and tools to navigate the information domain in crises.
-
Promoting participation and community engagement in safe and ethical AI
CDAC will focus on improving participation in the development of AI for humanitarian action, and push for a humanitarian architecture and governance that prioritises accountability to affected people by design as this technology progresses.
