Jon Mitchell

Independent Board member

Jon Mitchell is a senior executive in international development and humanitarian affairs with extensive experience in leading, managing and improving effectiveness of programmes and organisations in these fields. Currently Director of Programme Implementation and Institutional Funding at the War Child Alliance Foundation, he oversees country and regional programmes as well as institutional funding, humanitarian and security functions. Prior to joining War Child, Jon held leadership positions at CARE International, Oxfam Great Britain, Plan International and ODI. A dual citizen of the UK and US, Jon has lived and worked in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas and Europe, and he has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
