  • This event will bring together a range of expertise to discuss the increasing range of technology platforms available to humanitarians for the distribution of assistance, and particularly how they relate to case transfers.

New research by CaLP will be presented which discusses three technologies currently being used in aid programming: electronic payment systems, the use of mobile phones for text and voice communication, and digital data gathering tools. For each, the research outlines current use, examines benefits experienced and issues faced by the recipient and the agency and highlights key lessons learned.

This will be followed by a panel discussion comprised of donor, private sector and NGO representation, and a marketplace led by Last Mile Mobile Solutions, where various technology providers will be present to demonstrate some of the ways technologies are being used in humanitarian aid.
