The Disasters and Emergencies Preparedness Programme (DEPP) Innovation Labs is a two-year programme that aims to foster and eventually scale up innovations that address key problems faced by people living in disaster-prone areas.

The programme, coordinated by the CDAC Network and Start Network, has established ‘lab’ spaces in in Bangladesh, Jordan, Kenya and Philippines. Here, lab staff work directly with disaster-affected communities to identify, design and develop promising innovations in disaster preparedness.

DEPP Labs support impactful innovation, inclusive, community-driven approaches, sustainable lab capacity and skills training. The labs form a global network that prioritises local resources and knowledge and that supports open and accessible curricula and innovation models.
