About CDAC Training
CDAC Network is a global alliance of UN agencies, the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement, NGOs, media development and communications organisations – committed to putting the power in humanitarian and development action back in the hands of communities.
We believe that, when communities have the information and the resources to make their own decisions, they have the capacity to find solutions to even the most challenging problems. We work to enable them to do this through ensuring more effective participation and accountability using a communication and community engagement (CCE) approach.
For the past decade, CDAC has been growing its capacity development offering. We now offer a robust curriculum of trainings to upskill organisations and aid workers in the area of communication and community engagement for improved participation and accountability in humanitarian action. These trainings have been developed using experience and knowledge gained in numerous emergencies over the last 10 years, and are designed for those seeking to improve outcomes for disaster-affected communities and wishing to be at the forefront of the Participation Revolution. This modular advanced course couples theoretical context with practical learning in how to apply community engagement skills and techniques to build trust and accountability with all stakeholders. By integrating such skills and techniques, one can significantly increase impact and sustainability of a response.
